We are a young couple in Central Arkansas hoping to make a life for ourselves in the country. Our goal is to be sustainable and organic and to work within our means. Livestock, gardens, fruit trees and bees are all part of the plan, in addition to creating a homestead that is creative, beautiful and educational for all.

Composting Bins
Similar to composting bins we worked with in New Zealand, Mike designed a stackable "lincoln log" type frame where each board nestles together to house the compost at the desired height.
We weren't sure how this method would work back in Arkansas, but we are quite pleased with the results!
The Cold Frame Experiment
Inspired by an article in the Hobby Farm magazine and an old sheet of glass, I embarked on a cold frame experiment. I sorted out scraps from my husband's piles of wood, built a frame around the glass and set to work.
